The Saol Cashmere Aran Sweater ('saol' meaning 'life') was designed to reflect the continuous, unfolding nature of a life well lived, worked entirely in soft, luxury cashmere.
At the centre of the sweater runs an interlocking Celtic cable, an unbroken design that represents the interconnectedness of family, faith, and heritage: a pattern with no beginning and no end. The sleeves feature a rich combination of cable, diamond, and plait stitches, each carrying its own meaning within Aran tradition: the cable for the fisherman's rope and the safe return home, the diamond for a wish of wealth and good fortune, and the plait for a life woven closely together with loved ones.
The sweater is finished with a small turtleneck, offering a refined, contemporary silhouette while staying true to Aran roots. The neckline, cuffs, and hems are worked in a cardigan rib, giving the piece a neat, structured edge that frames the intricate stitchwork throughout.

Because of this very handmade process, each Madigan Aran sweater takes approx. 6-8 weeks to complete, but can vary based on our waitlist. We promise they will be worth the wait..
