Our Le Chéile (Irish for 'Together') Cashmere Aran Sweater is a unisex design that tells a beautiful story.
This design features a large plait down the center panel that references similar designs that feature on Celtic stone crosses, lined either side with with a single Zig Zag, representative of a path, showing the 'ups and downs' of life's journey (available with Bobbles or without). Next is the Small Cable stitch, reminiscent of ropes used for fishing, but also representative of Love: symbolising two members of a couple working side by side.
Next is a panel of the Blackberry stitch, which represents the natural riches of the islands and 'abundance'. Moss Stitches which represent the carrageen moss that grows abundantly in the cracks of the traditional dry stone walls which border the islands’ fields and roads...
Sizing:
This style is designed to be oversized & generous in the cut on the body
S/M: 46 inch chest, 24 inch long, 16 inch around arm, 17 inch sleeve length
L/XL: 48 inch chest, 26 inch long, 16 inch around arm, 18 inch sleeve length
Since every Madigan Aran sweater is made to order and individually knitted by hand, you’ll notice that each element has a definition and fullness that simply can’t be found in mass-produced, machine-knitted sweaters.
Because of this very handmade process, each Madigan Aran sweater takes approx. 6 weeks to complete, but can vary based on our waitlist.
